1.2. The subject and object of the science of tourist resources of Uzbekistan.
There are more than 7,000 historical, cultural, architectural and archeological sites in Uzbekistan. According to expert B. Turaev, 545 of them are architectural, 578 - historical, 1457 - art monuments and more than 5500 are of archeological significance. More than 200 facilities are being repaired, and 500 are in need of repair. According to the experience of many countries, the renovation process itself is interesting for tourists. In addition, there are more than 300 museums and 1,200 folk art organizations in the country. In terms of the number of tourist sites in Tashkent - 144, in Samarkand - 118, in Bukhara-201, Khiva -310. But tourism is one of our main tourist resources not intended for use. That is why it is very important to study and protect our national cultural and natural heritage for tourism purposes. The UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage states that each State must protect and promote the cultural and natural heritage of its territory and pursue its own effective policies.
The object of the tourist resources of Uzbekistan are the objects of tourism that can be used in all tourism activities in the country. The unique natural areas of our country, such as mountains, deserts, rich cultural and historical heritage, magnificent historical and architectural monuments, traditions, abundance of national resources.
From the object of science comes the subject of that science. The subject of this science is the study of tourist resources, types and nature, socio-economic content, location characteristics, effective use in the national economy, environmental and economic characteristics, use and protection in tourism.
At present, it is important to develop our economy and create new jobs to improve the socio-economic situation of the population. Therefore, it is necessary to effectively use the opportunities in which industries create new jobs. Today, tourism has become one of the most lucrative businesses in the world. It has become an integral part of the market economy and has become a rapidly growing industry in many countries of the world. The tourism sector is developing in close cooperation with the world economy's transport, communications, trade, construction, agriculture and consumer goods industries, and is gaining a foothold in the world economy. In our economy, the creation of new jobs in the field is of great importance for the efficient use of tourist resources.
As tourism develops in each region, there will be tourist resources used in tourism activities in that region. These resources are the basis of tourism. However, the resource potential of each region varies in terms of quantity and quality of resources. Therefore, the study and evaluation of tourism resources in all its aspects, the analysis of the possibilities of their use in tourism activities in general, determines the prospects for the development of tourism in a particular region.
Based on the above considerations, the purpose of this science is a comprehensive study of our tourist resources in terms of determining the tourism potential of our country. From this point of view, the main task of this science is the effective use of tourist resources in tourism, the creation of its economic basis. In addition, the main goal of science is to form in the minds of young people, who are the future of our country, the attitude to our national heritage, including cultural, historical, natural monuments and national traditions. The more our people preserve our tourist facilities and nature, which are our national wealth, the more we develop tourism in our country.

As of January 1, 2021, Uzbekistan has 8,208 tangible cultural heritage sites. Samarkand ranks first among the regions and has 1,607 tangible cultural heritage sites.

Kashkadarya region - 1 468 units;
Bukhara region - 829;
Tashkent region - 828;
Surkhandarya region - 561;
Navoi region - 437;
Jizzakh region - 427;
Andijan region - 422;

Tashkent city - 354;
Karakalpakstan - 288;
Namangan region - 274;
Khorezm region - 259;
Syrdarya region - 78.
