Fundamentals of Thermal and Hydraulic Machines and Fluid Power 10 nd Applied Lectures 1) A Rankine-Hirn power plant shows the following features: a. Steam generator: 150 t/h, 450°C, 120bar and h b =0.95; b. turbines: h q =0.83; c. Heat Customer: 35 t/h, 2 bar; d. Regenerative bleed: 15 t/h, 80 bar; e. Condenser: 0.07 bar. Evaluate the Power (h o =0.95) and the Efficiency of the plant. 2) A Joule-Bryton power plant shows the following features: a. Two stages of uniform intercooled compression: b=13, h y ’=h y ’’ =0.92; b. Two combustors: T MAX =1400K, h b ’=h b ’’ =0.96; c. Gas Generator Turbine: h mc =0.98, h mt =0.98, h y =0.9; d. Power Turbine: h y =0.9, h o =9.95; e. A regenerative Heat Exchanger: Rs=0.8; The mass flow air at the inlet of the compressor is 200 t/h. By considering the ratio (1+a)/a approximately equal to 1 and negligible the pressure drops across heat exchangers and combustors, evaluate the Power and the Efficiency of the plant.
