About my best friend
My best friends name is Jasur. We study at the same university. I’ve known him for 7 years. She is a good boy of 25 with black eyes and tall height. Jasur is very smart. She is one of the best students in our group and almost always knows the answer to the teacher’s questions. He is a very diligent student and is always ready with her homework. Jasur is a very good friend. She is eager to help, when her help is needed. When I have problems, he is the first to comfort me. I also try to help him and to support him in any situation. We share a lot of our secrets. I am sure, his advice is the best one, because he understands me.
It seems to me, we’ve known each other for ages. Jasur’s family is also very nice. He lives with his parents. They seem to be a very friendly family. We have the same hobbies with Jasur — singing and collecting coins. We enjoy parties, so we often organize them for our friends. Then we cook something tasty, watch TV, dance and have a lot of fun. I am sure we will remain best friends forever.

I have not much time to watch TV, but sometimes I spend an hour or two watching an interesting film or a news program. My family is not big. We are the family of five: my mother, my wife, my brother, my sister in law and I.
My mother’s name is Tursunoy. She is fifty years old. She is a housewife. She is very calm, kind, and clever woman. She is well-bred and talented.
My wife’s name is Zebo. She is 25 years old. He is a tailor. She is a woman of strong character. She is very experienced, responsible, and reliable.
My brother works as teacher. His name is Azimjon. He is older than me. He is calm, sociable and energetic. My brother is fond of swimming. In the evenings we like to watch TV, to read books and newspapers, to talk about different things, to discuss our problems together. When the weather is good we go for a walk. Our family is very friendly. We love each other very much. I think home is the nicest place. As proverb says, “East or west home is best”.
Samarkand is probably the most famous Uzbekistan’s historic city. Over 2,750 years of age, it has very impressive architectural monuments and a rich history. Samarkand originated from a settlement called Afrosiab (or Afrasiab). The Registan Square, with the three grand madrasahs (Islamic colleges) on its sides, is the top Samarkand attraction. Among the others stand out Gur-e Amir Mausoleum (also spelled Gur-e Amir, Gur Emir, Guri Amir) where Tamerlane rests under a jade tombstone; Bibi-Khanym Mosque (also spelled Bibi-Khanom, Bibi-Khanum) - one of the largest mosques in the Islamic world; Khazrat-Khyzr Mosque, one of the oldest Samarkand monuments where you can have an impressive view of Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis (also spelled Shakh-i Zinda, Shahi-Zinda, Shohizinda), Siab Bazaar and distant mountains; and the surviving part of the legendary Ulugbek Observatory (also spelled Ulugh Beg, Ulughbeg, Ulugh-Beg) where Ulugbek compiled his world-famous star catalogue. There are a lot of historical and architectural monuments around the southernmost Uzbekistan city of Termez. They date back to various times, with the earliest of them having lasted since the Kushan Kingdom of the 1st century. Among them stand out the ancient settlement site Dalverzintepe - the oldest Buddhist structure in Uzbekistan, Karatepa Complex and the Buddhist stupa Zurmala, and the monuments showing the expansion of Islam in Central Asia: Kyrk-Kyz Fortress showing great medieval architectural mastery, the khanqah (Sufi monastery and hospice) Kukildor-Ota - one of the most venerated Termez sights, the splendid architectural ensemble Sultan Saodat, and Khakim-at-Termezi Mausoleum, which is worshipped by Muslims all over the world.

There are many famous people that I admire. Most of them are talented in one or more fields. They lead a busy life, travelling from one place to another to meet their fans. My favourite celebrity is Johnny Depp. Although he had starred in many interesting movies, his best role was Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean. In my opinion, he is a multi-talented person. Apart from being a famous actor, he is a film producer and a musician. At the moment he is 52 years old. He was born in Kentucky, the USA, in a poor background. His family often moved from one place to another, because of his father’s job. He started dreaming about the career of a rock star at the age of 12, when his mother bought him a guitar. He then joined various garage bands to come closer to his dream. The first big movie where he starred was “Nightmare on Elm Street”, although he had taken some smaller parts before. He became really popular after appearing in television series for teens “21 Jump Street”. I also liked his performance in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Alice in Wonderland”. I know that Johnny Depp has been nominated for major acting awards many times, although his best achievement is the Golden Globe Award. He has a certain style of acting, which distinguishes him from the crowd of other actors. I like his manner of conduct at the ceremonies or during the interviews. He seems to be a level-headed and reserved person. By the way, acting is not his only passion. He also grows grapes and makes his own wine.
