Almost all people are fond of travelling. It is very interesting to see new places, another towns and countries. People may travel either for pleasure or on business. There are various means of travelling. For me there is nothing like travel by air; it is more comfortable, more convenient and, of course, far quicker than any other means. There is none of the dust and dirt of a railway or car journey, none of the trouble of changing from train to steamer and then to another train. With a train you have speed, comfort and pleasure combined. From the comfortable seat of a railway carriage you have a splendid view of the whole countryside. If you are hungry, you can have a meal in the dining-car; and if a journey is a long one you can have a wonderful bed in a sleeper. Travelling by ship is also very popular now. It is very pleasant to feel the deck of the ship under the feet, to see the rise and fall of the waves, to feel the fresh sea wind blowing in the face and hear the cry of the seagulls. Many people like to travel by car. It is interesting too, because you can see many sights in a short time, you can stop when and where you like, you do not have to buy tickets or carry your suitcases. A very popular means of travelling is hiking. It is travelling on foot. Walking tours are very interesting. Hitch-hiking is a very popular method of travelling among young people. But it is not as popular in our country as abroad.
Tashkent
Tashkent is the capital of the country of Uzbekistan. It is one of the largest cities in central Asia. It is also a major center of culture and industry. Many cotton farms surround Tashkent. Factories in the city make cotton cloth and machines used to process the cotton. Other factories make airplanes, packaged foods, and chemicals. Many people in the city work in government or business offices. Tashkent dates back at least 2,000 years. In ancient times it was an important trading center. Many different groups, including the Turks, the Arabs, and the Mongols, ruled Tashkent over its long history. By the time the Russians claimed Tashkent in 1865, it was a walled city of about 70,000 people. Tashkent grew quickly after a railroad was built in the late 1800s. Under the Russians, Tashkent was divided into old and new parts. The new part of the city had a European style. The Russians lived there. Uzbeks and other Central Asians lived in the old part of the city. Eventually the two parts blended together, with Russians and Central Asians often living side by side. Tashkent became the capital of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic in 1930.
An earthquake destroyed much of Tashkent in 1966. The city was later rebuilt.
Uzbekistan became an independent country in 1991. Tashkent was made its capital. Population (2007 estimate), 1,959,190.

Childhood
When I was a child I really wanted to grow up and to be adult. I wanted to solve my problems by myself and to choose what I need to do. Today I am adult enough to make my choice but I would really like to become a child again.I like to open my photo album and look all the photos I have. There are the best moments and people of my life. These memories are very important because I had many interesting stories I would like to tell to my children in future. My childhood was pretty good. 10 years ago everything was different and children played games outside every daySn. I had many friends and we always had a lot of fun together. We went for a picnic, to the beach and walked a lot in the parks. We always shared our secrets and I could talk the whole night with my mom about my hopes and dreams. I liked the feeling when I was coming back home and my mom was waiting for me with a hot a delicious dinner. We had dinner all together and later on we watched TV.
