Question: In the future, all cars, busses and trucks will be driverless. The only people
travelling inside these vehicles will be passengers.
Do you think the advantages of driverless vehicles outweigh the disadvantages?
Sample essay:
It is true that vehicles of the future are predicted to become fully autonomous, allowing
people to be only passengers inside them. In my opinion, the drawbacks of driverless
vehicles far outweigh the benefits.
On the one hand, there can be some beneficial aspects of driverless transports. One
benefit is that they could save human lives. Research has shown that a vast majority of
road accidents are caused by human error. Therefore, if we replace human drivers with
advanced technology, the rate of car crashes can be significantly reduced. Another upside
to driverless vehicles is that they would give us more time to spend on enjoyable activities
such as reading a book, watching a movie or getting some sleep during our daily commute.
This could considerably enhance our day-to-day travel experience, adding to the overall
quality of our life.
Nevertheless, I believe that the drawbacks of autonomous vehicles are more significant
than their benefits. First of all, driverless technology, no matter how sophisticated it is,
still makes a mistake. This raises a number of serious questions with regard to who should
be responsible for that mistake. Should politicians, manufacturers or programmers be held
accountable for any mistake made by driverless transport? Thus, a series of legal
complications arise. Furthermore, if all cars, buses and trucks are driven by technology
and AI instead of humans, this will surely lead to huge job losses in the transportation
sector. The unemployment rate could therefore increase substantially as a result of the
introduction of autonomous vehicles on roads.
paraphrase the question

In conclusion, it seems to me that the potential drawbacks of driverless vehicles greatly
overshadow the possible benefits.
