Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Since the beginning of the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, a number of measures have been taken to ensure economic stability, protect public health, and support families in need of social protection based on decrees and resolutions of the head of state.
One of the important tasks during the quarantine period was the enrollment of students in education. What work was done in this direction, how far distance learning meets the requirements, how it affected the quality of education, the implementation of legal documents and other issues was discussed during an event organized by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber for Science, Education, Culture and Sports.
The participants got acquainted with the results of the work on organizing online education at the end of the 2019/2020 academic year, including the effectiveness of using the Moodle system in the country’s universities. Studied the opinions and suggestions of students, teachers, professors, given a balanced assessment of the disadvantages and advantages of distance education.
It was noted that in the current academic year, state exams for students in their higher educational institutions, their term paper, practical training, results of final certification, master’s theses were organized using digital technologies. Measures have been taken to issue electronic graduation certificates to university graduates.
The question of the organization of work on the entrance examinations was raised, in particular, the readiness of public services centers in the regions to receive documents from applicants, as well as buildings and premises where tests will be held.
Listened to information on the ranking of universities, improving domestic higher education institutions in international indices and tasks for the future.
At the end of the event, measures were identified to implement the proposals marked by the participants and their control assigned to the Ministry of Higher Education.
