Introduction
Today the role and influence of English are gaining a higher speed in the world as well as in Uzbekistan. The main factors for this phenomenon include expanding communication with the world after gaining the independence and increasing speed and scope of information exchange in the global village."We must develop national education system"[1] - Shavkat Mirziyoyev takes part in a ceremony dedicated to Teachers and Mentors Day.
The Action Strategy for the Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan identifies the priority of improving the quality and efficiency of higher education institutions based on the introduction of international educational standards and the assessment of the quality of education. As a result, the possibility of teaching languages integrated into disciplines in higher education institutions has been expanded. Also, the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 19, 2021 PQ-5117 "On measures to bring the promotion of foreign languages in the Republic of Uzbekistan to a qualitatively new level" [ 2].
Among the main objectives and directions of the “Program for further improvement of the system of preschool education for 2017-2021” approved by this resolution is to create conditions for comprehensive intellectual, moral, aesthetic and physical development of children, taking into account the best international practices.
Under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference on measures to improve the system of teaching foreign languages was held on 6 May in 2021. At the meeting "The time has come to create in our country a new system of teaching foreign languages, which will become a solid foundation for the future. Since we set ourselves the goal of building a competitive state, from now on, graduates of schools, lyceums, colleges and universities must be fluent in at least two foreign languages. This strict requirement should become the main criterion for the work of the head of each educational institution", said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Having realized the importance of English in education, specialists of a foreign language are demanded to be aware of innovative techniques of teaching foreign languages to students at all fields of continuous education and to develop educational standards on learning foreign languages. Thus, teachers are implementing many methods to teach a lesson more effectively. Regarding research theme " Fricatives in English" teachers apply both traditional and modern approaches which will be explained on the following pages at present.
