sections.  On  the  first  two  years  programme  provides  knowledge

of Ancient Greek grammar, morphology and syntax. It provides

knowledge of literature of İonian and Attica eras. On the second

two years, students analyse classical texts from philological point

of major writers of Greek culture such as Homers, Plato, Xenophon,

Herodotus, and Euripides. This part of programme offers specific

learning acquired in the course of the student’s first degree and

enable them to undertake fully independent research at a higher

level. It particularly aims to acquaint students with the richness

of evidence characterizing the study of classical antiquity, and to

stimulate them to use knowledge of the relevant materials and

texts.

PhD programme combines strengths in traditional philology,

archaeology and material culture, and more recent critical

approaches in a way that allows graduate students to gain a broad,

rich, and interdisciplinary understanding of the ancient Greek

world.

The main areas of employment of the graduates are literary criticism

research (institutes of language studies and linguistics, archives
