1. Write examples for each part of speech.

1. Adjectives are words that describe a person place or thing.

My car is black. The room is too dark to work.

It was a difficult task. It was a very long story.

Tom is tall. This book is very expensive.

2. Adverbs answer the questions such as when?where?why?how?how much? (a

word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a

word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause,

degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ).

* Teachers work very hard.

How do teachers work?. Hard ; Hard is an adverb modifying the adverb work.

* How hard to teachers work?. Very.

Very is an adverb modifying the adverb hard

Students study daily.

* When do the students study?. Daily.

Daily is an adverb modifying the verb study

3. Nouns are used to name people,places or things.

Oil has a lot of components. Milk is white.

Her name is Aziza. Coffee comes from Brazil.

4. A verb can describe an action or process.

* The consert is beginning in twenty minutes.

* The ship leaves at 4 on Monday.

* The bank opens at 9 a.m. and closes 4 p.m.

* We go to the beach every summer.
