Punctuation is used to describe phonetic- phonological devices (ascending tone, descending tone, wavy tone, counting tone, pause, supersegment units) that play an important role in shaping the content of speech and speech [2,3]. . The basis of punctuation is understood what punctuation marks depend on. The first basis of Uzbek punctuation is the grammatical system of the Uzbek language, which forms the integrity of the content, intonation and structure of speech. This is the basis of Uzbek language punctuation. The second basis of Uzbek language punctuation is the Russian language punctuation system. This is due to the fact that most of the punctuation in the Uzbek language is borrowed from the Russian language, and the punctuation in the Russian language is scientifically and theoretically developed. Punctuation in modern Uzbek is classified into four categories - place of use, method of use, structure and function. Punctuation is divided into three main groups depending on the place of use: 1. Punctuation at the end of a sentence; 2. Punctuation used in a sentence; 3. Punctuation used in combination; Punctuation at the end of a sentence includes full stops, question marks, and exclamation marks. Punctuation at the end of a sentence has the following general features: 1) indicates the completion of the sentence; 2) indicates the meaning of the sentence; 3) indicates the limit of completion of the sentence, the separation of the sentence from the next sentence; 4) they perform a different function when used elsewhere from the end of a sentence and are used for certain purposes. Sentences with a full stop, question marks and exclamation marks are in the form of one-syllable and two-syllable, complete and incomplete, affirmative and negative, simple and compound, excerpts and assimilations [ 4]. The question mark is placed in the following places: 1. After the words of the question: You have one son, which one of us will you marry? (O. Hoshimov) 2. If a word or sentence in the text raises suspicion or misunderstanding, a question mark is placed after such a word or sentence and it is enclosed in parentheses: After the food has been attacked (?), The guests have left. They put their hands on the table (?!). (Oybek) 3. If words and phrases such as who, what, how, when, how, what did are used in the sense of interrogation, they are followed by a question mark: Subject answers the questions like who ?, what ?, where? The exclamation mark is used in the following places: 1. After the emotional exhortation: Here you would see the spectacle! (O. Hoshimov) 2. After the command words in the sense of command, wish, dream-hope: Interrogate the accused Jumanov! (O'Hoshimov) 3. An exclamation mark is placed at the beginning of a sentence, followed by emotionally motivated words, exclamation words, and modal words yes and no. 4. Inseparable sentences in parts, when nominative sentences are emotional, are followed by an exclamation mark: You did not work in retail. Awesome! Suddenly a familiar voice called from the big gate: - Ermat aka! Gulnara was very excited. (Oybek) 5. An exclamation mark is placed at the beginning of the speech and after the emotional urges: My mothers! How on earth did you come here? (A.Qahhor).
