Abstract. 
The article presents Turkish national society’s kinds o f sport wrestling, literature, 
art and customs. Authors also conducted research based on the study o f archival documents, as well 
as Ottoman authors’ translations and reports. The General characteristic reflects the Ottoman 
pehlivan / wrestling lodges and Greek gymnasion / palaistra’s a glance and types o f customs and 
traditions.
