The major work that began the text linguistics is the Harris’s “Discourse Analysis” written in 1952.In this book the “language “is presented not in the form of separate words and sentences but in the form of text has become the main conception of text linguistics. Another work done by I.R Galperin called “Текст как обект лингвистического исследования”(1981) . This book covers a wide range of questions such as the text definitions,text categories,text units and text parameters. One of the main features of text linguistics is its interdisciplinary character. It means the correlation of two or more sciences on the basis of the common theoretical assumptions, notions and methods of analysis.There differentiated two types of interdisciplinary links: internal and external. Internal links include phonetics , morphology,stylistics,lexicology and syntax. External links include psycholinguistics,linguiculturology, sociolinguistics,literary critism and etc. It is difficult to give a universal and generally accepted definition because its complicated and multifold character. The definition of the text depends on the aims of text analysis, chosen approach and text type.The modality is the attitude of the speaker or writer to the information conveyed by the text. There are two forms of modality in the text: objective modal meaning and subjective modal meaning. Subjective modality reveals the author’s personality,his outlook and artistic credo.
