Eligibility Requirements

  • Eligibility Requirements

  • Applicants must:

    • Apply during spring of their high school sophomore year.
    • Be approved by high school principal.
    • Demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities.
    • Have an interest in furthering their knowledge of the Metro-Decatur area.
    • Have an interest in addressing the issues confronting their peers as well as the overall community.
    • Commit to full participation in the program. Commitment includes completion of all program assignments.
    • Be academically sound and maintain throughout the school year. An average “B” or better is recommended because students are excused from school for eight (8) days.
    • Have their own transportation to and from each session location.
    • Be prepared to pay a $100 tuition fee if accepted. Limited scholarships are available.
    • Participants will receive three (3) Richland Community College credits if minimum requirements are met.
