3. A new area of mutual cooperation may be to increase the efficiency of using the 
potential for developing the logistics infrastructure of both countries as one of the factors for 
increasing competitiveness and diversifying the economy. 
The leading role in this process is played by transport and logistics centers, which 
must be created at the intersection of international transport corridors at border railway 
stations in order to transship cargo to alternative modes of transport. 
As a recommendation for the creation of transport and logistics centers, the railway 
stations bordering with Tajikistan, Bekabad and Amuzang, can be involved. These centers 
would contribute to the organization of intermodal transportation (by rail and road transport), 
aimed at increasing the volume of cargo transportation and attracting the interest of both 
cargo owners and transport companies in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. 
Proposals for the development of trade and economic relations 
For the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of 
Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan, cross-border interregional clusters should be 
created in the border areas. 
To create cross-border interregional clusters in the trade and investment and 
transport and logistics sectors, it is necessary to develop special cluster programs in order 
to enter the markets of the border regions of Tajikistan and increase interregional interaction 
with Tajik producers of goods and services. 
It is necessary to jointly develop a Strategy for the Development of the Border 
Territories of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan. The implementation 
of regional projects on the formation of industrial and transport and logistics clusters will 
allow enterprises to unite their efforts to integrate into international value chains and help 
enter third-country markets with finished products. 
The advantages of inter-regional clustering policy can be considered: 
- availability of an opportunity to combine various resources of private cluster 
members in order to achieve a common result; 
- the possibility of transition from competitive relations between cluster members to 
cooperation and mutual assistance;
