THE EFFECTIVENESS OF PUBLIC CONTROL IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITALIZATION 
OF THE ECONOMY

Annotation: The purpose of the article is to further strengthen the effectiveness of 
public control in reducing the hidden economy, as well as to further develop the digitalization 
of the national economy using the experience of foreign countries. In addition, benefits from 
value-added tax have become important, and today, as a result of making payments through 
the electronic system, they are considered the basis for the correct and precise 
determination of taxation objects.. 
Key words: hidden economy, digitization of the economy, public control, value-
added tax benefits, cashless payments, plastic cards, cashback and bonuses, transactions, 
state budget, mass media.
The experience of foreign countries has shown that one of the most successful 
common aspects for countries in reducing the share of the shadow economy in the last 
decade is the improvement and expansion of the digital payment system aimed at reducing 
the use of cash. Therefore, the improvement of this system in the Republic of Uzbekistan is 
of great importance in reducing the share of the hidden economy. In particular, one of the 
main tasks of the special commission on reducing the hidden economy established by the 
Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is to take measures to expand non-
cash payments.
