To familiarize with the culture of the country of the language being studied, cognitive, educational games can be organized. These are all kinds of finger games, songs, poems. The listed classifications of games basically have different principles: pedagogical, methodical, age. In our opinion, another important principle for classification is the mental characteristics of children. As part of the English insight for kids methodology (intuitive English for children), we grouped games into blocks, taking into account the mental characteristics of children (sharing the opinion of G.E. Akimova that preschool children perceive and process information differently, depending on from the characteristics of the psyche). Experimentally, it was found that in a group of seven children, the majority - five - developed primarily a visual channel, then a tactile and an audio channel. To master vocabulary, we offered classes to one group of children of three years old, consisting of seven people, to memorize five new words by showing cards with pictures and calling them in English several times, and with another group of children, also three years old and of seven people, after card presentations we organized an outdoor game Give me, please.... (bring me...), which allowed children with a leading audio and tactile channel to master the vocabulary, as the children listened to the request, then found the picture, picked it up and carried it to the teacher. As a result, we asked the children to reproduce the words in English, looking at the pictures. In the first group, two out of seven children named only 60 percent of the words, while in the second group, the assimilation of vocabulary was 100 percent. In this way, for more effective mastering of the vocabulary of the English language by children of preschool age, it is necessary to organize gaming activities, revealing all channels of cognition for children: visual, tactile and audio channels. |
