INTRODUCTION (abstract of DSc thesis)
The aim of the study is to develop a scientific basis for assessing the fertility
of irrigated and rainfed soils based on the determination of patterns of formation,
soil properties of the altitude, and desert zones of Uzbekistan.
The object of the research is rainfed brown soils,
irrigated and rainfed
serozem soils of altitude zones, as well as irrigated soils
of the desert zone that
developed on various soil and climatic conditions of the republic.
The scientific novelty of the research is as follows:
it is proved that the sum of all the properties and ecological-meliorative soil
conditions arising under the influence of the
processes of soil formation,
formation, development and evolution of soils is soil fertility;
the correlative relationship between some properties
of irrigated and rainfed
soils and crop yields was determined;
reduction coefficients have been developed for the properties limiting the
fertility of irrigated and rainfed soils based on a correlative
relationship;
proved the need to assess the effective soil fertility relative to a particular type
of crop, with the average agrotechnical condition taken in a certain period of time,
as well as the need to base all the genetic properties of irrigated and rainfed soils
when assessing their fertility;
the basic scales for assessing the fertility of irrigated
and rainfed soils were
improved on a scientific basis, methodological guidelines were developed;
bonitet scores were assigned for each soil difference based on the assessment
of the degree of fertility of irrigated and rainfed soils of key farms.
