Pomegranate Producers Association of Uzbekistan

On July 25, 2022, Pomegranate Producers Association of Uzbekistan was established within the framework of the project Project “Technical Assistance on Horticulture Growing Technologies in Uzbekistan” implementing by Annexure Financial Solutions Ltd. (Hong Kong) with the support of the World Bank and the International Strategic Centre for Agri-Food Development (ISCAD).

Objectives of the Pomegranate Producers Association of Uzbekistan:

• 
  Unification pomegranate producers throughout the country;
  
• 
  Supporting pomegranate producers’ interests;
  
• 
  Further development of pomegranate production and dissemination of best practices in this field;
  
• 
  Development of new promising pomegranate varieties;
  
• 
  Standardization and certification of products;
  
• 
  Product branding, participation in international exhibitions and expanding international cooperation.
  

Activities of the Pomegranate Producers Association of Uzbekistan:

• 
  Improve existing legislation to promote pomegranate production;
  
• 
  Develop the Association to make it a model for other agricultural sectors;
  
• 
  Popularize the brand of Uzbek pomegranates and include it to the top world pomegranate producers;
  
• 
  Develop and implement a 5-year development strategy to ensure the planned development of Uzbekistan’s pomegranate production.
