Leo Tolstoy is the author of War and Peace
While working on the novel, Tolstoy worked on Titanic. He had to study the archives, read the correspondence between Tolstoy and Volkonsky, and even go to the Borodino field. Leo also involved his young wife in this process - her tasks included a complete rewrite of the drafts. It was impossible to get away from reading the novel, readers were simply amazed by the description of public scenes and the revelation of the subtleties of the human soul. The writer himself said that he tried to write the history of the Russian people. A century later, literary critic Lev Anninsky tried to count how many times Tolstoy's works were screened. It turns out that by the end of the 70s of the twentieth century, only forty film adaptations were released abroad. Until 1980, the novel "War and Peace" was shown four times. Sixteen tapes were shot by "Anna Karenina", twenty-two times "resurrection" was shot. In addition, these films were released not only in Russia, but also abroad. In 1965, the director Sergey Bondarchuk began to adapt the novel on a large scale, and this film is still popular today. PERSONAL LIFE Leo Tolstoy's wife was 18-year-old Sofia. Their marriage took place in 1862, when the writer was already 34 years old. The married life of the couple lasted almost half a century, but cloudless happiness did not work in the personal life of the writer. Leo Tolstoy with his wife Sophia Sophia's father was Andrei Bers, a doctor who served in the Moscow palace office. They lived permanently in the capital, but every summer they went on vacation to the Tula estate near Yasnaya Polyana. Leo knew Sofia since childhood. Immediately she studied at home, then at Moscow University, she knew a lot about art and was a very well-educated girl. Shortly after the wedding, Tolstoy allowed his wife to read his diary - he wanted her to know everything about him. Sofia is portrayed by her husband's adventures, his wild life and his interest in playing cards. He also learned that there was a peasant woman, Aksinya, who was pregnant by Tolstoy. In 1863, their first child, son Sergey, was born. When Tolstoy began to work on the novel "War and Peace", Sofia helped him work with all his might, even though she was pregnant.
