Conclusion 
The research that has been done to date on the management of nonstandard work 
arrangements suggests that the outcomes of these work arrangements are, at best, mixed 
for both individual workers and organizations. While the use of nonstandard workers 
might provide some benefits to organizations this review suggests that more work needs 
to be done to understand how the benefits and costs of this management employment 
practice can affect organizations in the long term.
