2.2 Lesson development using mind map technology
The second part of the thesis is the development lesson using one of the modern educational technologies - mind maps.
The use of mind maps contributes to faster memorization and subsequent recall of information. Using memory cards, you can more easily retrieve information from your memory. Memory cards also serve as a fast and efficient means of analysis.
Modern standards of education in Russia present new requirements that determine the main goal of the school - the formation of a creative and active personality of the student. Today, the student must be able to independently acquire knowledge; apply them in practice to solve various problems; work with various information, analyze, generalize; to think critically, to look for rational ways to solve problems. The task of the teacher is to involve students in active creative activity, where the participants in the learning process interact with each other, build dialogues and independently acquire knowledge. In the formation of the above skills, the method of mind maps helps us.
So:
Lesson topic: "The Putilov Church and its metamorphoses"
The lesson was developed for the professional module PM.01 "Manufacture, installation and repair of stucco architectural details and three-dimensional products", for
profession "Sculptor-modeler of architectural details" in the restoration college "Kirovsky"
Topic studied: "Architectural styles"
During the study of this topic, students should know the basic information about architectural styles, stucco details and their style characteristics.
The purpose of the lesson: to study the Putilov Church, its history, style changes
Lesson objectives:
1) To convey to students the following information: the history of the Putilov Church, its appearance and metamorphosis during the 20th century
2) Teach students to work with various information sources
3) Teach students to work with mind maps
4) Organize individual, group and collective activities of students
5) To develop the creative and intellectual abilities of students, thinking, memory
(The students were given a task in advance: using various sources, several people prepare mini-reports about the Putilov Church in different years of its existence, with the obligatory attachment of a photo. We will use these photos when creating a mind map, since drawing these objects will take too much time Students who are not speakers take notes).
1) Acquaintance with the "strange building" on Stachek Avenue, 48
(This is the central object of our mind map. In the center of the board we fix the photo of the Putilov Church in its current appearance. This photo is in color and is larger than all the others. The student who prepared the report tells the audience the following: “When you follow Stachek Avenue towards the Narva Gates , in front of the railway overpass (and the viaducts of the FDD) slow down a little and turn your head to the right, there in the depths, behind the gray building of the business center, hides the edge of the old building, battered by time. This building, the parish of St. it looks more like a building of a house of culture or a house of officers of the Soviet times, but a little more than a hundred years ago it was one of the largest temples of the northern capital with a majestic hipped bell tower over the entrance with twelve bells, the central one of which weighed 9 tons! This building has an amazing fate. But first things first. ”) Under the photo, you can make the appropriate captions: “strange building”, etc. (Appendix 1)
2) Next, we turn to the history of the emergence of this building. The next student who prepared the corresponding report enters the case. He strengthens the photo of the Putilov Church on the board, leads to him an arrow from the first photo and talks about the emergence of the church. Inscriptions appear around the photo: years of construction (1901-1907), style (pseudo-Uzbekistan) name of the architect (V.A. Kosyakov), the fact of the appearance of the tomb of N.I. Putilov in the church (Appendix 2)
This is where the "royal" period of the church's existence ends. There is a revolution of 1918, and for the Putilov Church there comes a time of amazing metamorphoses.
3) The third student tells about the closing of the church in 1925, about the locksmith "Smolyak", who cut down the cross from the dome with his own hand (the map is replenished with the corresponding arrows, dates and drawings). After the closing of the church, the building was rebuilt by the architect A.S. Nikolsky in the style of Petrograd Suprematist constructivism, and it houses the Krasny Putilovets club (Appendix 3)
4) The following speakers supplement the map with photographs and drawings about the state of the church during the war years: in 1940, the building was transferred to Trudenergokadr and adapted for a driving school, and after the war it was rebuilt in the style of "Stalinist classicism." In 1990, the church was returned to believers, and in 2005, a small bell tower was built on the building at the expense of parishioners, which, coupled with all the alterations, makes this building one of the most unusual and mysterious in St. Petersburg. (Appendix 1.4)
5) After our mind map is ready, a brief summary of the lesson follows, a discussion. [23]
The development of the mind map clearly demonstrated to me that:
-with its help it is really convenient to process and structure the information received in the lessons
- that it is an effective technique for visualization of thinking and alternative recording. Mind maps activate associative thinking, which allows you to see important facts missed in traditional analysis.
-intelligence cards help to collect all the materials on a particular topic on one dashboard: you can take a look at everything at a glance and see the general or focus on the details.
In the near future, I am going to apply this development in my teaching activities and check how effective the mind map method will be in working with my students.
