Introduction
Today we cannot ignore a number of reforms aimed at the development of the English language in our country, the ongoing rapid changes. In today's process of globalization, the effect of the radical reform of the education system of Uzbekistan is evident in all areas related to this area. The state pays special attention to the teaching and further development of foreign languages in the education system, which is a key sector of socio-economic, political and cultural life of the country, one of the vital factors that directly affect the morale of the population. at the policy level. At a video conference chaired by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev on May 6, 2021 on measures to improve the system of teaching foreign languages, the problems in the system were analyzed in detail and priorities were identified. On this basis, the issue of attitudes to foreign language teaching is addressed in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 19, 2021 No PP-5117 "On measures to bring the promotion of foreign languages in the Republic of Uzbekistan to a qualitatively new level": "... education in foreign languages It is no coincidence that the need to develop as a policy priority, radically improve the quality of education in this area, attract qualified teachers to the field and increase the population's interest in learning foreign languages "[1]. The signed resolution includes many reforms, such as the promotion of not only English, but also other foreign languages among the population and the coordination of the implementation of internationally recognized programs and textbooks for teaching these languages at all levels of education.
One of the basic components in the education and upbringing of children is the development of coherent speech. Most scientists (linguists, philosophers, psychologists, sociologists, teachers) are concerned about the decrease in the general level of speech culture. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct systematic work on the formation of language competence. In this regard, the task of the modern school is to achieve the most effective form of organizing the educational activities of children.
At present, the general trends in the speech development of schoolchildren have been established, the idea of ​​speech development at the interdisciplinary level has been substantiated, the problems of speech communication have been revealed, possible ways of forming the language competence of schoolchildren have been identified, an analysis of the monologue and dialogic forms of speech utterance has been presented, and psychological features of the formation of coherent oral and written speech of younger students have been identified. schoolchildren. However, as practice shows, despite the increased interest in the problem, the level of speech development of children of primary school age is insufficient. In this regard, modern and methodically competently organized work on the development of speech, which begins with the first lessons of literacy, is of great importance, is carried out systematically at all subsequent lessons of the English language and literary reading. The basis of the initial language course is the comprehensive development of speech. The study of all sections about the language is subordinated to this task. Presentation is one of the types of written creative works designed to develop coherent speech of students. The presentation is based on the reproduction of the content of the statement, the creation of your own text based on the given one.
Theoretical analyzes of the literature and the results of experimental studies have shown that the issues of the formation of the language competence of younger students have not yet been sufficiently studied. Existing studies are mainly limited to communicative competence in general and the development of speech abilities, in particular, language competence has not yet become the subject of a special study, which determines the relevance of the topic of the final qualifying work.
The research problem is to identify the conditions under which the work on the presentation will contribute to the development of the language competence of younger students.
