Le Futur (Future) – used to describe the following:
An action or state of being that will happen sometime in the
future
An action that is implied to take place
When conjugating verbs that end in –er and –ir, the ending is dropped and
replaced. However, for verbs with –re, only the –e is dropped.

Example:
Il partira dès qu’elle arrivera. (He will leave as soon as she
arrives.)
The verbs “partir” (to go) and “arriver” (to arrive) are in the Future tense as
both are implied to happen at sometime.
Le Conditionnel Present (Conditional) – Used to describe the following:
An action that would be done if something else was possible.
A conditional desire
A duty or obligation
When conjugating verbs that have –er and –ir, the infinitives are dropped
and replaced. However, with verbs that end with –re only -e is dropped.

Example:
J’aimerais du thé. (I would love some tea.)


The example has the verb “aimer” (to love) to express the speaker’s desire
to have some tea.
