INTRODUCTION
The development of realism in England in the 19th century is very specific in comparison with the same phenomenon in other European countries. The intence formation of capitalism defined the strong correlation of personality and society which lead to early shaping of critical realism in England. One of the most prolific representative of this movement was Charls Dickens, the realist-wrtiter.
The urgency of the present research work lies in the fact that characters of Dickens’ novels imboding the faith in humanity, humanitarianism and sympathy for human plight don’t leave the reader indifferent, even today. Honesty, delicate psychological analysis, deep humanism in the depiction of heroes – common people with their good and bad make the works of Ch. Dickens relevant to date.
The research subject of the present work are the texts of Ch. Dickens novels
“Oliver Twist”, “The Great Expectation” “Little Dorris”.
The subject matter of the work is the narrative imagery in realistic novels of Ch. Dickens.
The present research work is aimed at investigating into special aspects of narrative imagery in realistic novels of Ch. Dickens.
The above noted aim is attained by completing the following tasks:

  1. Examining special aspects of the English realism.

  2. Analyzing the creative career of Ch. Dickens.

  3. Exposing the main features of realism in the novels of Ch. Dickens through the narrative imagery.

Research methods applied in the present work are the narrative method, biographical method, compositional analysis.
The aim and the tasks of the research work defined its structure, which includes introduction, two chapters, conclusion and list of references.
In the introduction the aim, research object and subject matter are appointed, the research tasks and methods are represented.
In the conclusion a brief research overview is given, the main research findings are summarized.
