The cutting plan is decided by the planner out of the NOW system
It is defined based on the customer order lines/quantity
In the example of the previous slide we can see that we have to produce 1235 garment of 1 color (white) in the size described in the order.
The planner decided to have 5 markers
In the first marker we cut only the size “ 14” and we produce 15 units
In the second marker we cut the “size “ 15,5 and 18” and we produce 20 units
In the last marker we cut the “size “ 15-15,5-16-16,5” and we produce 250 units
The size 15,5 that is produced in 300 units is cut in 3 markers.

The planner also decided the length of every marker
In the next slide we can see the length of every marker.
The planner has also to decide the number of “plies or layers” of every lay

To better explain for the marker 1 we have a fabric of 1.31 meters where we have all the parts of the size 14 and we have 15 plies to produce the 15 units. This is the simper case
For the marker 5 we have a fabric of 5.62 meters where we have all the parts of the size “ 15-15,5-16-16,5”. In this case we have to cut 250 units. We cannot have 250 plies so in this case we have 10 layers of 25 plies each
