Action verbs are verbs that show action. For example, run, sit, sleep etc. They are also called dynamic verbs. These verbs are also called active verbs. They show physical or mental action. They can also be used to describe states of being or conditions, though not all non-action verbs use this type of structure.

They can also be used to describe conditions or being, though not all non-action verbs use this type of structure. This type of verb is used to describe events that do not involve physical movement. It describes how something happens or how a person feels, for example: “I was upset”.
