particularly around the major attractions. At all the tourist hotspots, the availability
of public convenience and their successful operation will have to be ensured.
Adequate budgetary support and service level driven O&M contracts will have to be
provisioned to achieve the objective and the same will be monitored through the use
of technology. A phased approach will be adopted to ensure 100% compliance.
Innovation and public private partnerships will be crucial.
9.3.3. Food safety, Hygiene and Cleanliness at Eateries
The Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the
State Governments and Local
Governments and in collaboration with Food Safety Standards
Authority of India
(FSSI) work towards increased enforcement of food safety standards at the tourist
destinations. The support of the vendors and their associations will be sought for
quality upgradation.
