The 9 th European Congress on Tropical Medicine and International Health (ECTMIH) brings together over 1’500 of the most distinguished scientists and experts in the field of tropical medicine and international health . It is the premi- er European congress in this field . Through plenaries, symposia and twelve parallel scientific sessions, the confe- rence will reflect on global health challenges, neglected diseases and neglected populations, clinical issues, the forthcoming sustainable development goals and the world’s revived collective ambition to reach universal health care . This event will offer a most stimulating and vibrant platform to interlink the many disci- plines that govern and support the drive for better health, while emphasizing health and social systems based approaches, the global health architecture, mul- ti-sectorial collaboration, policy dialogue and implementation at national and global levels . We are delighted that the International Transdisciplinarity Confe- rence 2015 will be integrated in our congress, adding additional viewpoints to this venue . ECTMIH will also offer a cutting-edge platform to review progress in health interventions such as drugs and vaccines, and strategies for the preven- tion, control and even elimination of the major health problems of today and tomorrow . ECTMIH aims to be an open forum for scientists, politicians, NGOs, public and private sector health experts to exchange ideas, review progress and discuss solutions to global health challenges following our joint principle and spirit of mutual learning for change.
