“Simon says”
This is a game that is appropriate for all ages and does not need
any special equipment or preparations.
This game develops
attention and focus in the child. One person stands in front of the
others, and he is the leader. The leader says, “Simon
says put
your hand on your head,” and each child has to put his hand on
his head. But if the leader says “Put your hand on your head”
without saying “Simon says,” then he is out of the game. You
could change it to the name
of the child whose party it is, so you
could say for example: “ ‘Abd al-‐‘Azeez says…”
Memory game
This game is fun and is also useful as it exercises the child’s
memory. Put twelve pictures of different things on a board, then
show the board to
the children for a few seconds, then hide it.
Then the children have a few minutes in which to remember the
pictures that were on the board. The one who remembers most
of them is the winner. You can also
play this game with two
teams.
