Grammar: The Past Perfect Continuous
The Past Perfect form of the Past Perfect Continuous to be verb (had been) and the present participle of the main verb (Present Participle) is made using the form:
S + had+ been + V-ing
Eg. You had been working.
Past Perfect Continuous Simple Past Tense beginning before any action in the past and at the same time represents ongoing action.
Key words: for a long time, for three years…
Eg. He had been working for a long time when his brother came.
Her sister had been living in London for three years when the war broke out.
