ENTRY 3  
For this entry, you should be busy with 2 tasks:  
1. Writing CV. This assignment is worth 5 points.
This entry should be submitted electronically on Moodle.
Revise the CV that you have started to write in the Writing course in the form of an 
application for a job (as a teacher/ a receptionist/an interpreter/ or manager)
Assessment criteria:
• Task response
• Organisation (layout, cohesion, order of items in CV)
• Appropriate style (word choice, level of formality)
After feedback from your teacher, revise your CV and Cover letter and submit e-
version on Moodle.
2. Cover letter. This assignment is worth 10 points.  
As well as attaching a CV, you need to write a cover letter explaining your reasons 
for choosing this particular job at this particular company, and why you would be a 
good hire. Things to include are:
1. Possible qualifications or reasons for you to be hired
2. Your energy and enthusiasm for the job
3. Your past experience in a similar position. Is the letter addressed generically, 
rather than to a specific individual?
Assessment criteria:
• 
Is the letter tailored to the role applied for?
• 
Does it contain spelling and grammatical errors?
• 
Does it mention your organisation and the specific role applied for?
• 
Does it clearly state what value the candidate can bring to your organisation?
• 
Does the letter simply repeat points already made on their CV? 

Does it 
communicate their passion and enthusiasm?
  
Note that in order to earn score for ENTRY 3, you must complete at least 60% of the 
total score, that is 9 out of 15.
