prominent involves the following: length or duration of vowels, vowel quality,
loudness, and pitch. Thus, the stressed syllable is longer, louder than its adjacent syllables, and may also be marked by the pitch movement as noted in the literature review. To examine these factors acoustically, several acoustic parameters were examined to determine the stress pattern of a language, e.g., (F0) fundamental frequency, duration of stressed and unstressed syllables, intensity, and vowel quality (F1 and F2). Furthermore, acoustic analysis is often carried out using the Praat. Therefore, the present study also utilized the Praat software (Boersma & Weenink, 2014) to examine 2000 recorded voice samples of Sindhi speech.
