2.2 Analyses of official document translation with examples
A certified translation can only be provided by professional translator because it requires broad knowledge about translation standards of official documents. The translator must sign a document assuring that the translation is an accurate replica of the original language, and the translation is certified. Certified translations are mandatory for legal documents such as immigration papers, birth certificates, business contracts, and court transcripts. As translators, it’s important that we follow a well-structured methodology when working, in order to not lose the overview of the task ahead. If we take a broad approach to translating, we could say that there are three main stages in the translation process – initial reading, translating and proofreading – but, as we have seen throughout this course paper, each of these stages can be separated into several more intricate processes. By providing translating methodology, translator will be able to go about work in a more organised and structured manner, because translating isn’t just a matter of converting one language into another. In this course paper I tried to analyse passport translation from uzbek to English and an official letter from Eglish into Uzbek.
My analysis is on giving personal details in Uzbek and its translation to English in the new method of passport construction . As we know, the personal details page is considered to be very essential to take information about holder of the passport so I intended to investigate it.
Below my analysis;

STATE PERSONALIZATION CENTRE
While analysing new passport constructions of both in Uzbekistan and United Kingdom, I detected some differences in giving personal details. Now I will mainly focus on translation of personal details.
Firstly, the word of passport is translated into Uzbek as pasport with the way of transliteration. ''Davlat ko'di'' is translated as a ''country code'', not as state or government code. ''Pasport raqami'' is indicated with only '' no'', I mean not with passport number. If there is ''h'' in the surname or name of the passport holder, it is translated with the way of transliteration, like h- kh. ''Otasining ismi '' is not translated into English. Because there is no such kind of name in their culture. ''Ayol( jinsi)'' - is imaged in English with only ''F''. Because this is the abrivation form of of the word ''female''. The most remarkable thing I reseached is ''ismi( not ismlari )'' is tranlated as ''given names''. But this( I mean names ) is the standart form in passport construction. ''Shaxsiy imzo'' is tranlated as ''holder's signature'', ''not personal / private signature''. But there is not place for ''holder's signature'' on personal details page in United Kingdom passport design. ''Berilgan sanasi'' is translated as ''date of issue'', not given date. ''Personallashtirish organi'' is translated as ''authority''.
Another example is about official letter translation. This is example is taken from the letter of World Bank president to our president Shavkat Mirziyoyev (The president of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim 2017-10-05 05:04:54)
Dear Mr. President,
I want you thank you for opportunity to meet with you in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General assembly. I am very grateful for open and sincere exchange of views, which took place.
In particular, I would like to once again congratulate you on your vision and activities to transform Uzbekistan into a modern economy with my dynamic private sector in which economic growth is inclusive and sustainable…”
Now translation and analyses of the text:
“Muhtaram prezident janoblari,
Nyu Yorkda bo’lib o’tgan Birlashgan Millatlar Tashkiloti Bosh assambleyasi doirasida Siz bilan uchrashish imkoniyati hamda samimiy ochiq muloqot uchun minnatdorlik bildiraman.
Sizni O’zbekistonni jadal rivojlangan xususiy sektorga , inklyuziv va barqaror rivojlanib borayotgan iqtisodiyotga ega zamonaviy davlatga aylantirish yo’lidagi faoliyatingiz bian ya’na bir bor qutlayman…”
As we can see from this part of the letter official style of English is differs from Uzbek. One concurrence between official languages of Uzbek and English is they both tend to simplicity, I mean they try to give simple words and word combinations obeying formal language rules. In official style of English idioms are not used. And also, verb phrases that are used in formal English are considered monosemantic.
