Pretoria Derick was involved in a motorbike accident on 5 February 1986 when he was in matric. He was unconscious until September that same year. Since the accident he has completed his matric, a BA degree (majoring in Criminology and Psychology) and a Further Diploma in Education (severe disabilities). He is currently studying an honours degree in Augmentative and Alternative Communication. He is available to do motivational speaking as he feels that
