Research Paper - Food Waste (Abdulboriy Aminjonov 11-Blue)

Food waste is a growing epidemic problem with tremendous consequences. It affects more than just our planet, it has an immense impact on world hunger, greenhouse gas emissions, and the global economy. Every day, people around the world unknowingly contribute to the issue of food waste by throwing away food they don't eat. Grocery stores discard entire crops because they are imperfect in shape or size, and restaurants and homes toss out leftovers that could have been saved for another meal. According to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization, one-third of the food produced for human consumption annually is lost or wasted while nearly a billion people get hungry every day. Thankfully, there is something we can do to prevent this problem- we can reduce the amount of food waste produced! By learning how much food we actually need and understanding how to properly store our leftovers, we can help make sure no one gets hungry and our resources are not needlessly wasted. This Research Paper aims to explore this deeply complex issue and discuss possible solutions to reduce and redistribute global levels of food waste.
