ENRTY 4
Fullname: Xoliqova Madina Group number:112 ENRTY 4 English writing can be difficult if the writer does not make use of the many English language writing resources that are available to help them. Writers can use dictionaries, style guides, spell checks, show the writing to friends, fellow students and of course their English language teachers. While there are lots of grammar problems, now I will focus most common mistake of my partner’s writing. Her the most problematic error is the using of determiners, that come before a noun or noun phrase and tells us if the noun is general or specific and often specifies quantity. This category includes articles (a, an, the) and words such as this, that, every, each, which, and that. The most common issue concerns knowing which determiner to use or omit and when to do so. If it comes to me, mostly I have problem with the using of well and good, overuse of adverbs, misplaced modifiers, mixing up possessive and plural forms, etc. For instance, this sentence “I am doing good in math”, which I wrote incorrect in my IELTS writing exam. Understanding the most common mistakes can help us approach our work. How to correct English writing Errors? The most obvious answer is teacher correction. We should take our corrected paper home, pull out a dictionary and grammar book and carefully go over each correction. Personally, I have seen that I do learn from some corrections. One of many new methods is called Group writing. Group writing seems to be an effective method of correcting English writing errors. Immediate feedback is quick within the groups and again when corrections are suggested in front of the entire class. ATTACHMENT 1: SELF-EVALUATION RECORD SAMPLE OF SELF-EVALUATION FORM
