10. FIGURE OUT HOUSING
One way that law students lose a ton of actionable hours in the day
is by not living close to
campus.
It is tempting to save money by living far away from campus and commuting in. But that is
being penny wise and pound foolish. Living on the wrong town (for
example living near
UCLA in the west side of LA, but driving to USC on the east side)
could cost you two hours a
day in driving time. That is two hours you’ll be unable to either study or prepare for class.
Even if the housing is cheaper you’ll have additional costs in the form of car payments,
insurance, gas, and parking (few Law Schools even provide
parking to students which
makes it even harder to drive to class).
Living near campus (or even on campus) is usually worth the premium and will make your
Law School life easier.

11. TAKE A PREP COURSE
Most students approach Law School the same way they approached college. The Legal Eagle
Masterclass is rooted in the principle that every single piece of information
you study needs to
be relevant and valuable to your final exam—if it’s not, it’s not worth studying.
Our masterclass will teach you what to look for so you’re not squandering your precious
time—you’ll
be studying less, learning more, and getting better grades than your classmates.
These
are practical, on-the-ground tactics for all aspects of law school—homework, classwork,
outlines,
studying, and—most importantly—EXAMS.
