2. REVIEW SEVERAL ISEs
The ISE is unlike any test you’ve taken before.
Far too many people never encounter a true ISE test until the first day of finals in Law
School.
Test day is not the first time you encounter an ISE.
There are several places online that store old Law School tests and answer keys.
Read a few. Meet the enemy.

2. REVIEW SEVERAL ISEs
Know that you won’t understand the substantive law, but you can start to see the
similarities between the exams:
• They all start with large fact patterns
• They all end with broad prompts that ask you to talk about the liabilities of some or
all of the parties
• They all require you to see both sides of a dispute (for example, create the best
arguments for the Plaintiff and the best arguments for the Defendant).
If you understand what the test looks like, you’ll have a much better idea of how to study
for it.
