One way that law students lose a ton of actionable hours in the day is by not living close to 
campus.
It is tempting to save money by living far away from campus and commuting in. But that is 
being penny wise and pound foolish. Living on the wrong town (for example living near 
UCLA in the west side of LA, but driving to USC on the east side) could cost you two hours a 
day in driving time. That is two hours you’ll be unable to either study or prepare for class.
Even if the housing is cheaper you’ll have additional costs in the form of car payments, 
insurance, gas, and parking (few Law Schools even provide parking to students which 
makes it even harder to drive to class).
Living near campus (or even on campus) is usually worth the premium and will make your 
Law School life easier.
