In 1999 Radcliffe Institute was transformed into the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies. In February 2007 the Harvard Department of observers, which includes faculty and fellows of the University, was officially approved by the Harvard Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences to become an independent institute at Harvard - Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Harvard is a group of elite American universities - Ivy League. Affiliates are the University Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard and the Peabody Museum of Natural History.
