3. Order the wires If the plastic has been removed successfully and without damaging the inner wires, it is time to order the wires. There are two schemes that might be used, according to standards EIA 568A and EIA 568B. Forget about EIA 568A, this is a standard almost exclusively used by government institutions of the USA. We will use the wiring order as specified in standard EIA 568B. This standard is also known as the AT&T 258A company standard, but don’t be confused because this one ends with an A. Remark How to make a network cable VVOB – Bernard Kapinda Page 5 of 7 August 18, 2016 You will need to remember that the B standard is used when you decide to install wall plates to make a static and neatly installed network connection. In that case, on the wall plate connector there are indicated two ways to connect, marked with A and B. You should always use the B scheme there as well. However, the installation of wall plates is beyond the scope of this document, and will not be discussed here. The correct order as specified by standard 568B is as follows: 1. White/Orange 2. Orange 3. White/Green 4. Blue 5. White/Blue 6. Green 7. White/Brown 8. Brown Although it does not really matter how you get the wires in this order, the easiest way is probably to do as follows. Figure 5: First step in wire ordering First locate the orange pair and put it at the left side. Make sure the white/orange wire is at the left of the full orange one. Then move this pair at an angle of 90 degrees to the left, so it does not interfere with the rest of the wire pairs anymore. Next, locate the brown pair and put it at the right side. Make sure the full brown wire is at the right of the white/brown wire. Then move this pair at an angle of 90 degrees to the right, so that it also does not interfere anymore with the two pairs of wires that are still upright. Now, for the two remaining wires you notice that it will not be as easy as with the two preceding ones. Untangle the wire pairs, and move the 4 central wires in the correct order, so white/green, full blue, white/blue, full green. Figure 7: Trimming the wires Keep the wires neatly aligned and close together, then cut off the uneven parts of the wires with the cutting blades of the crimping tool, so that you have a perfect row of wires. Do not peel the ends of the wires, this will damage them. 4. Insert the wires into the connector Still holding the wires firmly in position, take the RJ45 connector with your other hand and delicately slide it over the ordered wires. There are two ways to insert the wires into the connector, depending on how you hold the connector. The wires must be inserted in such a way that you see the wires in the correct order from left to right with the golden Download 190.71 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
