MOTIVATION LETTER
Dear Selection Committee,
I am Shokir Eshmurodov, a junior student at the faculty of Economics and Tourism at Termez State University. I have decided to apply in the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic, because I am sure studying in Slovakia it would highly enrich my future studies and help me to improve Management and Entrepreneurship sphere in Uzbekistan. The expected time of my graduation is on July in 2024. Furthermore, I believe this programme is a great opportunity to get in touch with Slovak culture and educational system.
I strongly believe that this scholarship will be very important in helping me succeed in my life and future career and achieve my goals. I did a research paper about Economic development of Slovakia when I was a first year student at my home university and then, I learned that Slovakia is a country located in the heart of Europe, the quality of education in the country is also very high, this ancient and beautiful country is much more affordable for international students to study and live than other Western European countries. Also, industrialization is very high. During the past five semesters, we acquired very useful experience and knowledge from our professors and teachers related to the economy and management, and I realized that tourism is one of the most important sectors of the economy. Therefore, we are also taught economic and management subjects such as economic theory, economic and tourism geography, tourism and hospitality management. I would like to pursue a master's degree in management and see my career in management in the future. That's why I want to study at Comenius University in Slovakia, Faculty of Management. The university’s faculty members are experts in their respective fields, which ensures that students receive the best possible education. In addition, there are number of distinguished faculty members in the field of management such as Pavol Zajac, Jana Kliestikova, Juraj Nemec and Peter Starchon. As an international student, I was attracted to Comenius University because of its diverse student population. The university attracts students from all over the world, which creates a vibrant and dynamic learning environment. There, I want to make many clever and talented friends around me. Comenius University has strong links with local and international businesses, which provides students with excellent career opportunities. The Comenius University is also well-known for its many famous alumni, including politicians, diplomats, journalists and many other famous people. There, I am going to study several subjects including Management, Development of Entrepreneurial Skills, English for Managers, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Managerial Economics, Marketing, and Macroeconomics. By studying Management, I will acquire a range of topics related to effective management practices: organizational behavior, strategic planning, decision making, leadership, teamwork, project management and communication strategies. Apart from, I desire to run my own business in the future, the courses Development of Entrepreneurial Skills and Introduction to Entrepreneurship give me great opportunities to acquire knowledge about how to strat and manage my own business and covers topics such as opportunity recognition, business planning, operations management and risk management. It is challenging to international students to adhere or get accustomed to the new student life in a foreign university. However, when I learned about Comenius University, it provides good guidance and support to all students whether it is related to accommodation, visa status, and career opportunities. At our home university we are not taught English for managers course. This course provides me improve my language proficiency in a business context and I will learn some useful skills like business communication, presentation skills, negotiation and business writing. From my point of view, Slovakia is a hospitable country for international students, therefore, I have already set several objectives. There, I am able to conduct Speaking Clubs for students who are keen on Spoken English, providing data regarding Uzbekistan costumes. In addition, I have been working as an assistant teacher at “Lexis” education centre also, supporting hundreds of learners to enhance their levels of General English from Beginner to Intermediate. I have been successfully finished Upper-Intermediate [B2] English level course at 86% score. I am ready to share the techniques and strategies which I have used the teaching English to pupils. I am confident in my ability to obtain professional skills and knowledge that will be useful in my future career. To be clear, I am going to continue my master's degree in Europe in the field of Management. I can say with great confidence that the experience and knowledge I acquired during my studies in Slovakia will be useful in my future career. After completing my studies, I intend to become the head of the Tourism Department, and I will apply my experience in my work atmosphere to increase the potential of tourism in our region. Moreover, I will broaden my horizons beyond what I learned in class at my home university.
I would like to express my gratitude for considering my application, I do hope that you will consider me as a prospective scholarship holder. I highly recommend that my peers and friends consider studying at Comenius University in Slovakia through the NSP program. Upon my return, I will guide and teach them how to win this scholarship, I am eager to share the knowledge I have obtained. I will also apply the knowledge and experience I gained in Slovakia to improve the business and management environment of Uzbekistan.
