15- Nowadays almost every student who graduates from high school tries 
to attend college or university.
Why do you think people attend college or university?
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Entering higher education is nowadays regarded as one of the most important 
aims of most teenagers in Iran, it is indeed considered so essential that most 
teenagers, upon graduation from high school, take the university entrance 
examination which is administered annually in the hope that they can pass it and 
enter university. Of course they have many different reasons for sitting the test 
many of which are not educational purposes.
I believe most students struggle for success for occupational purposes. I mean 
they would like to have better employment opportunities with a higher salary; 
consequently, their favorite field of study is usually based on market demand. 
They are fond of the specialties that are in higher demand in society. Another 
reason for entering college and university is achieving a higher social status. 
Holding a university degree is these days associated with a relatively superior 
status.
There are also some teenagers who try to keep up with the Joneses; they do not 
have any justifiable reason for their decisions; however, they do so since they 
do not want to fall behind others. Some other teenagers study their lessons hard 
to pass the university entrance exam since they are forced to. It is an obligation 
imposed on them by their parents to which they have to conform. 
On the other hand, there are many others who prefer to extend their education 
for some better reasons. There are teenagers who continue their studies in 
order to broaden their knowledge; they try to obtain academic, professional 
knowledge in their favorite fields, they love their major and try to obtain as much 
information in the field as possible. 
In conclusion, I believe each single teenager may have his or her reason for 
entering college or university, and a reason that may or may not seem 
convincing for others.
