16- The chart below shows the percentage of obese people in 12 
different countries.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown 
below.

The graph shows the percentage of obese men and women in different 
countries. There are two trends in the graph. First of all, rates vary greatly 
between countries. Secondly, the obesity rate among women tends to be 
much higher. 
The USA, Australia, and the Czech Republic, have the highest rates of 
obesity, at an average 23%. The lowest rates of obesity are found in France, 
Netherlands and Finland, at less than 15% of the population. America is the 
country with the highest rate of obesity. However, the rate differs for different 
groups inside each population. White males, at 20% have a lower rate of 
obesity than Mexican-American males, at 24%. 
There are also huge differences between the sexes. Although the figure for 
men is only 10%, the rate of obesity for Russian women is over 25%. Black 
American women, at 37%, are the most obese, but the black males are only 
slightly fatter than white US males, at 24%. 
In other countries, however, the difference can hardly be noticed. In France, 
the percentage of obese men is about 9%, which is only 1% higher than the 
figure for women. The figures for Canadian males and females, at 15%, are 
identical. In Finland, France and the Netherlands, there are slightly more 
obese men than women. 
In conclusion, there are significant differences between countries, but females 
are more obese than males in most countries.
