DEVELOPMENT OF RESEARCH COMPETENCE OF STUDENTS

Abstract: In modern conditions, a specialist with both professionally significant competencies and 
research competence is becoming more and more in demand. The organization of research activities is 
an important area of training students at all levels of higher education. This article analyzes the work on 
the development of research competence. 
Key words: scientific knowledge, research methods, teaching. 
Introduction 
In the modern world, it becomes important not only to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities, but 
also to be able to obtain this knowledge, to have meta-subject knowledge and to have a stable motivation 
to continue learning, to professional and personal growth. One of the universal competencies in this 
direction is research, as it includes all types of universal learning activities that are most important for 
successful learning. It should be noted that in the context of the digitalization of education, research 
competence has become even more relevant for students, new means of its development have appeared. " 
[1]. 
Main Part 
In the process of such training, the future specialist needs to instill interest in research activities, 
develop internal motivation [2]. 
In the system of three-level higher education, focused on the training of a specialist researcher
research work is one of the professional activities of a master and a graduate student. The state educational 
standards of higher education provide for the formation of a system of competencies in the field of research 
work of a master's and postgraduate graduate. But for the successful development of the research 
competence of graduate students (research activities) and graduate students (independent research 
activities), it is necessary to form educational and research competence of students at the undergraduate 
level (educational research work) [3]. 
Presentation of the main material of the article. The need to organize the research activities of students 
in the process of studying at the university is evidenced by the "regulations", "programs", "requirements" 
for the preparation of research work for bachelors and masters. Our study reflects the specifics of the 
organization of research activities in a pedagogical university. Work is carried out in the following areas: 
• syllabus; 
• students' initiative in the process of mastering academic disciplines; 
• courses on theory and organization of research work; 
• R&D in the course of work experience, participation of students in competitions, conferences
publications [4]. 
Pedagogical education occupies a special place in the system of state development. Educational 
organizations of general, vocational and higher education, specialized academic institutions and research 
institutes, expert and analytical centers, public and state organizations of information and analytical profile, 
mass media, state administration and local self-government are interested in training specialists in this area.

The analysis of the psychological-pedagogical and scientific-methodological literature allows us to 
state that today, in the conditions of a three-level system of higher education, the issues of consistency and 
continuity of the structural and content content of the main educational programs and curricula in the 
system of "bachelor's degree - master's degree - postgraduate studies" are actualized [5] . A number of 
researchers understand the category of continuity as one of the principles of didactics (the connection 
between the new and the old in the process of development), and in the context of learning - as consistency 
and consistency in the arrangement of educational material, the connection and consistency of the steps 
and stages of educational work [6]. 
According to researchers, research competence is the ability and readiness of a specialist to 
effectively apply the available knowledge, skills and abilities in the course of research work and in the 
process of solving professional problems [7]. It can be argued that research competence is the basis for 
solving professional problems and the formation of professional competence in general. 
The formation of research competence in the preparation of a teacher occurs through the modeling 
in the educational process of the subject and social content of the upcoming activities to solve professional 
and research problems.
