In this scientific work, the process of additional purification of wastewater of the Maksam-Chirchik enterprise from heavy metal ions by adsorption method was studied. As an adsorbent, solid waste generated in large quantities in wood processing enterprises, that is, wood shavings was used. By chemical modification of wood shavings with alkaline reagents, their adsorption capacity was increased and was 7.5 mg/g for copper ions and 11.6 mg/g for zinc ions. The optimal parameters of the adsorption process were determined. When studying the time dependence of the adsorption process, it was found that the adsorption increases for 1.5-2 hours, and then does not change. The optimal environment indicator is pH-6. According to the conducted research, adsorbents obtained on the basis of wood shavings can be used as effective and inexpensive adsorbents for cleaning wastewater from heavy metal ions.
