Quantity. The teacher may have to decide the number of vocabulary items to be learnt. How many new words in a lesson can be learnt by learners? If they are too many words, the learner may become confused. The teacher should limit the number of words that will be taught to the students. Therefore, in teaching vocabulary using song lyrics not all words should be learnt by students. He should limit the words to be learnt by underlying words or make a certain mark on the words ocurred on song lyrics.
Need. In some cases, one hopes that the choice of vocabulary will relate to the aims of a course and the objective of an individual lesson, it is also possible for the teacher to take responsibility of choosing the vocabulary to be taught for her or his students. In other words, the students put in a situation where they have to communicate and get the words that they need. Frequent exposure and repetition When teaching vocabulary, the words cannot be teaching once, it is not enough; it is necessary to repeat the words many times until students have internalized the concept. Purwoningsih reports Wallace when he points out that: “The teacher should give so much practice and repetition until his students master the target words well. He also should give opportunity to the students to use the words in writing or speaking”.
