AMIR TEMUR MAUSOLEUM
1	Amir Temur mausoleum is considered one of the unique art works of Central Asian architecture. The mausoleum was built at the south-western part of Samarkand, at the edge of madrasah built by Muhammad Sultan (1376-1403), the grandson of Amir Temur who expected to be his successor, in the late XIV century. Muhammad Sultan unexpectedly died during Amir Temur`s campaign at the coast of Asia Minor. The dead body of the prince was brought into Samarkand and interred in the tomb behind the veranda at the south part of the ensemble. Then Amir Temur ordered to build a mausoleum in the honor of the prince. By this way an octahedral building was built above the tomb. The monuments built by Muhammad Sultan at the site were destroyed in the result of earthquakes in XVII-XVIII centuries.	Sqaure (stairs). General information	2 min
2	Dear guests we descended from XXI century earth level to XV century`s. there is the entrance portal of the mausoleum in front of us and above it the inscription: “The work of Muhammad ibni Mahmud Isfahaniy” in suls script was written. Entrance portal is decorated with mosaics. Among these decors we can see the difference between the works of modern masters and masters of that time. So, the secrets of ancient masters were not revealed.
