race around - go fast / do lots of different tasks quickly.
I’m tired of racing around at work. It feels as if I will never be able to finish my tasks.


keep up with (something) – do something at the necessary speed.
We need to hurry up if we want to keep up with the team.


make time for (something) - to find time to do something or be with someone even if you are busy.
It’s difficult for me to make time for my friends because I have a lot of studies and new tasks.


take time out from (something) - a period of time when you stop what you do and you have a rest.
It’s very beneficial to take time out from work to relax each day.


let (something) pile up - allow something to become more/ bigger.
I try not to let my tasks pile up and I deal with them as quick as I can.


struggle with (something) - to try hard to do something that you find very difficult.
I always struggle with exams because there is a lot to study and it’s not easy to remember so much information.


take on (something) - take responsibility for.
I can’t take on any more work at the moment.


have (no) control over (something) – have/ not have the power to direct or manage something.
I would like to have more control over my work-life balance.


feel overwhelmed by (something) – how you feel when something is too much or too difficult.
When I first joined the course, I felt absolutely overwhelmed by a number of tasks I needed to do. There were so many of them.
