Directions to the run:

From Leesburg, take Route 7 west,

Take Rout 9 north,

Right onto 287 to Lovettsville.

Right on Main Street (at the 7-11)

Approximately 3/4 mile on left to Lovettesville Community Center.

Description of run:

Scenic, fairly challenging course that runs past the Firestone Estate and the north fork of

Catoctin Creek. Note that longer course includes portion with moderate traffic.

Hill Rating:

2 (Gentle rolling hills)

Surface:

M (Mix of pavement and gravel roads/trails)

Short route: 6.58 miles

Starting at the Lovettsville Community Center, follow Broad Way to Route 287.

Head straight across route 287 onto Irish Corner Road and follow it to Elvan Road.

Make a left onto Elvan Road and follow it to Axline Road.

Make a left onto Axline Road and follow it to Lutheran Church Road.

Make a left onto Lutheran Church Road and follow it to Route 287.

Make a left onto Route 287 and follow it to Loudoun Street.

Bear right onto Loudoun Street and follow it to Locust Street.

Bear right onto Locust Street and follow it to Broad Way.

Make a right onto Broad Way and follow it back to the Community Center.

Long route: 9.31 miles

Starting at the Lovettsville Community Center, follow Broad Way to Route 287.

Head straight across route 287 onto Irish Corner Road and follow it to Elvan Road.

Irish Corner now turns into Mountain Road. Continue on Mountain Road to Axline Road.

Make a left onto Axline road and follow it to Picnic Woods Road.

Make a right onto Picnic Woods Road and follow it to Householder Road.

Make a left onto Householder Road and follow it to Axline Road.

Make a left onto Axline Road and follow it to Lutheran Church Road.

Make a right onto Lutheran Church Road and follow it to Route 287.

Make a left onto Route 287 and follow it to Loudoun Street.

Bear right onto Loudoun Street and follow it to Locust Street.

Bear right onto Locust Street and follow it to Broad Way.

Make a right onto Broad Way and follow it back to the Community Center.
